Bringing El Salvador’s rich heritage and lush volcanic farms to life for a coffee roaster’s launch.
Challenge
Premium coffee roaster 503 Cafecito needed art direction and product photography that boldly referenced the relationship between nature, Salvadoran coffee farmers, and the roasters products. How could we help visually address the common disconnect in modern coffee culture while also celebrating the California roaster’s launch?
Approach
Starting with visual research of the competitive landscape, we found that vibrant art direction for coffee wholesale product photos are often minimal or nonexistent. We wanted 503 Cafecito to stand out from the crowd.
Working directly with 503’s brand team, we directed and captured a cohesive launch assets that focus on rich, grounded, earthy color palettes inspired by Salvadoran landscapes. We also did not shy away from bright lighting to evoke the sunshine felt in coffee farms. Compositions framed the product within cultural and environmental contexts while maintaining commercial appeal.
